Gen Z are people born between 1996 and 2010. A generation that is mainly subscribed to the digital age and shifting finances. It is the youngest generation on the planet after Alpha. Like other generations, their mindset and behaviors are also engineered by their way of growing up.

They have witnessed the transition of the digital era along with pandemics and recessions.

The Internet has been part of their daily life. Due to this, they have a solid grip over most of the technological advancements.

Apart from this, Gen Zers share some commonalities which make them unique. Mathematically speaking — they are online enthusiasts and are fond of shopping, dating, and making friends online. They even stick to their screen for longer hours.

Unlike digital natives, Gen Zers are intensely conscious of curating their social media image. They flit between sites and tabs within their virtual ecosystem.

It helps them to get away with the people of their interest. From gaming to K-pop- each domain has its community.

Generation Z deals with anonymous mental instability. They tend to have the least positive outlook about where the world is heading. This pessimism is due to their early encounters with pandemics, wars, disruptions, and recessions.

That’s why they anticipate the least economic opportunities shortly. Therefore, they are anxious about their survival.

However, Gen Z are highly money and tech-oriented but they struggle with their mental issues. Gen Zers believe in playing their part in society to remarkably achieve a greater benchmark. They demand the practice of sustainable development to make the earth a better place.

The Gen Z holds strong values in concern to social and racial justice. They think that the environmental depletion should be restored to avoid the global catastrophe. They even feel that inflation should be controlled in the interest of the common people.

Moreover, they are the representation of emerging fashion trends. They are the trend-chasers. Their trends are revised within weeks and months, to stand out from the crowd.

They endorse such things to guard their image among peers.

Most Gen Zers assign themselves to convenience and accessibility. They look to spend to enrich their daily experiences. That’s why online payments and app-based service is highly favorable to them.

Even they prefer the brands which had minimal adverse effects on the environment. They are more inclined towards brands that address environmental issues and value ethical practices.

Unlike millennials, this generation is more prone to have unrealistic expectations. Like expecting a hike in their payrolls within a few months of working and a mid-life crisis in their early twenties.

A part of their community is subjected to reject the idea of masculinity. They refrain from taking physical pain and gym memberships, rather they choose to stay soft.

Subsequently, it paves the way for rising mental illness. Gen Zers stay glued to their screens for longer hours. Which act as a catalyst for such diseases.

Surveys have shown that this generation is far less compatible with challenges and is less willing to work. Due to this, they had a hard time acquiring leadership skills compared to millennials.

They are mainly social media-oriented personalities. Which causes them to lose connectivity with the outside world.

At last, I would say, each generation is unique with extraordinary experiences. Which further shapes their personality, might be good or bad. But not each of them are same.

Every forthcoming generation is examined by an earlier one. And they find the new generation not good enough. It’s a perpetual cycle.

But the truth is that — the influence of technology is taking a toll on their mental health, it’s alarming. However, they are the future.

Your claps and follows fuel me to produce even more and better stories.

Thank You
